Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Cowardly Assassination of the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran offers its condolences to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the esteemed people of Iran, and the respected family of Larijani on the martyrdom of Dr. Ali Larijani, representative of the Supreme Leader and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who has martyred along with his noble son, Dr. Morteza Larijani, Dr. Alireza Bayat, Deputy for Internal Security of the Supreme National Security Council, and several of his companions. This cowardly act of terrorism was perpetrated by the United States and the Zionist regime in a residential area of Tehran.

Martyr Dr. Ali Larijani was a devoted philosopher, a profound intellectual, a patriotic statesman, a faithful and truthful companion of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and a sincere servant to the Iranian nation. He dedicated his blessed life to safeguarding national sovereignty, independence, and the progress of Iran.

Dr. Larijani's influential role in numerous capacities related to Iran's security and national interests, along with his enduring impact on cultural, intellectual, and political spheres—particularly in strengthening national cohesion—will forever inscribe his name in Iran's history as one of the faithful and everlasting servants of this land.

Undoubtedly, such terrorist acts will not only fail to create any crack in the iron will of the Iranian nation to defend its security and national interests but will instead redouble the national unity, unwavering resolve, and steadfastness of the people and officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran in defending the nation's integrity. The blood of this exalted martyr, like that of other martyrs on the path of Iran's honour and independence, shall ensure the vitality, authority, and continuity of this nation's glorious trajectory.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs vehemently condemns this heinous crime in the strongest possible terms and calls upon the United Nations, its Security Council, and the Secretary-General personally to bear the responsibility for a decisive and responsible reaction to the continued military aggression of the Zionist regime and the United States and the odious crimes they are committing against the Iranian nation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns that indifference to the pathological addiction of the usurping entity ruling occupied Palestine to commit murder, terrorism, genocide, and heinous crimes will drive the world and human civilization towards the precipice of moral decay and normative chaos, the consequences of which will be borne by all nations and every individual human being.
