The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kuala Lumpur condemns in the strongest terms the aggressive act committed by the United States on the evening of Tuesday September 1 against our beloved homeland.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kuala Lumpur condemns, in the strongest terms, the aggressive act committed by the United States on the evening of Tuesday, September 1, against our beloved homeland.

 

The Embassy condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the criminal and unjustifiable attack by the U.S. armed forces on a residential home in the village of Kuhestak, Sirik, in Hormozgan Province, where a family was holding a wedding celebration. According to official reports, this barbaric attack resulted in the martyrdom and wounding of more than 70 innocent men, women, and children-  people whose only "crime" was attending a joyous family celebration. Images released of the children wounded in this incident have once again exposed the inhumane nature of this aggression.

 

The list of American crimes against the Iranian nation has now grown more complete than ever. This attack cannot be viewed in isolation from the previous chain of attacks on the school in Minab, Lamerd, and Qeshm, nor from the claimed strikes on so-called military targets that have been concealed under deceptive labels and justifications. The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran warns, with deep concern, that more dangerous than the bomb itself is the normalization of the bombing of civilians; and more dangerous than the silence of the international community is the interpretation of that silence as legitimizing such crimes.

 

The claim by U.S. military officials that its armed forces do not target civilians is a shameless and false claim. The documented record of American attacks on civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq clearly refutes this claim. The reality of the Sirik crime is so evident that even the American propaganda machine is unable to fully deny it: Sirik is not a story - the civilians are real, and the victims are real.

 

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran regards this act as a flagrant violation of the fundamental principles of international law and a reminder of the American-Zionist crimes committed over the past year and a half, and emphasizes the firm resolve of the Islamic Republic of Iran to decisively defend the country's independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
