The Cyrus Cylinder a Model of Governance Rooted in Diversity and Tolerance and a Precious Heritage for Human Society

Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Malaysia: The Cyrus Cylinder is a model of governance based on diversity and tolerance and a precious heritage of humanity.

e “The Cyrus Cylinder of the Great and the Evolution of Modern Human Rights” was held with the participation of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Kuala Lumpur and the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) Malaysia. At this meeting, Valiollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Malaysia, as the special speaker, said: He described the Cyrus Cylinder not merely as an account of a military victory, but as a declaration on the nature of governance; a document that rests on four foundational principles: respect for the religious beliefs of conquered peoples and the restoration of their temples, avoidance of violence and plunder following victory, the return of exiled peoples to their own lands, and the recognition of diversity as a principle of governance.

In another part of his remarks, Mohammadi reacted to the positions and actions of the United States toward Iran. Referring to the claims of the U.S. President regarding the destruction of Iran’s civilization, he described this civilization as a great heritage for all of humanity and spoke of the U.S. military attack on Iran and its human consequences, including the killing of 168 innocent children at a school in Minab on the first day of the forty-day war. He also criticized U.S. support for Israeli actions in Gaza, Palestine, and Lebanon. The speech of our country’s ambassador in Malaysia concluded with an emphasis on Iran’s resistance and steadfastness in preserving its independence and territorial integrity.
