Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian met with Mr. Dato' Sri Utama Haji bin Muhammad Haji Hassan, Malaysian Foreign Minister on Wednesday evening, Feb.26, 2025. The Iranian President considered convergence and strengthening of relations between Islamic countries, including Iran and Malaysia, as essential in the current world conditions.

The President considered synergy and greater coordination between officials and politicians of the Islamic world to be very effective and important in eliminating differences, misunderstandings, poverty and deprivation from Islamic societies, and added “The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready and emphasizes expanding relations with Islamic countries, including Malaysia, in all fields.”

Dato' Sri Utama Haji, Malaysian Foreign Minister, considered Iran-Malaysia relations based on understanding and friendly relations, and emphasized his country's interest in developing relations and utilizing Iran's capacities and experiences, especially in the fields of science and technology, university relations, food industry and agriculture.

The Malaysian Foreign Minister described Iran as a civilized, historical country with a history of several thousand years and growing and progressing.

Dato Sri Utama Haji further mentioned the shared positions of Iran and Malaysia on regional and international issues, including the Palestinian issue, and conveyed to the Iranian President, the message of the official invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for H.E. to visit Malaysia.
