Bilateral meeting among the Iranian and Malaysian Ministers of Agriculture in Tehran
During a meeting between the Iranian and Malaysian Ministers of Agriculture on April 30th, 2025 in Tehran, both sides emphasized the historical and deep-rooted relationship between their countries, highlighting cultural, religious, and economic commonalities. The Iranian minister expressed a strong desire to expand the current $120 million economic exchange, particularly in technical and engineering, health, and agriculture. He proposed drafting an agricultural cooperation document and activating a joint agricultural committee.
The Malaysian minister agreed that the current trade volume doesn't match the potential and aimed to find practical solutions for increasing economic exchange, acknowledging existing obstacles in the banking and financial systems. He also announced the finalization of technical cooperation details between relevant agencies and extended an official invitation to the Iranian Minister of Agriculture to visit Malaysia to further strengthen ties.
