The meeting of the Speaker of the Malaysian parliament with the Iranian new President

Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament has traveled to Tehran to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the 14th term of the Islamic Republic of Iran presidency

Speaker of the Malaysian parliament Dato Johari bin Abdul, met with the President of Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Massoud Pezeshkian on Monday evening July 29, 2024 in Tehran.

Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian described the relations between Iran and Malaysia as friendly and fraternal and said” in the new era and with the will of the high officials of the two countries, we are making these relations stronger and more effective”.

Appreciating Malaysia's positions on the Palestinian issue, the president emphasized the need for more unity among Islamic countries against the Zionist regime.

In this meeting, Mr. Johari Bin Abdul, while congratulating again on the election and appointment of Dr. Pezeshkian, said that the relations between the two countries have a historical background and are based on religious and cultural cooperation. He emphasized on Iran’s rule as the axis of stability and security of the region. 

 Johari Bin Abdul, also referring to Malaysia's presidency of the ASEAN next year, emphasized the interest of member states of this association to develop relations with Iran and called for the expansion of further interactions between the Islamic Republic of Iran with Asia on the basis of this association for the benefit of all nations.
