Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, in a meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Malaysia, on the sidelines of the Kuala Lumpur-Ankara 2026 Dialogue, thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for allowing Malaysian ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.  This stance was reflected in the Malaysian media on April 8, 2026.
