Criminal Military Aggression by the Armed Forces of the United States of America and the Zionist Regime
Once again, in the midst of diplomatic negotiations to reach an agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue, we witnessed a widespread military aggression by the United States and the Zionist Regime on the tenth day of the holy month of Ramadan. A crime that was carried out in a coordinated manner and without any legal or political justification and is a clear sign of violation of Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law.
This attack occurred at a time when Iran and the United States were in the midst of a diplomatic process. Despite being aware of the intentions of the United States and the Zionist Regime to carry out a military aggression, we entered into negotiations again to exhaust our arguments with the international system and all countries that were advised to talk, in order to remove any excuse for aggression from the other side. With its responsible and transparent behavior at the negotiating table, Iran has once again clearly demonstrated its determination to achieve a diplomatic and comprehensive solution based on regional and international peace and stability, and the Iranian people are proud that they did everything necessary to prevent war. Now is the time to defend the country and confront the military aggression carried out by the enemies of Iran and Islam, and history is proof that Iranians have never surrendered to foreign domination and aggression, and this time too they will give a strong response to the aggression.
Among the targets hit by the US and Israeli attacks are a large number of completely civilian sites, including at least one girls' primary school in southern Iran, where, according to the latest figures, about 150 children were killed, about 100 were injured, and dozens more were trapped under the rubble, as well as other civilian, medical, and educational infrastructure. These deliberate attacks against centers whose civilian nature is fully recognizable are a clear example of a war crime under the Geneva Conventions and are considered a grave insult to the conscience of humanity.
These facts reveal a clear contradiction between the claims of the US and Israeli authorities that they are targeting only military installations and the reality on the ground of attacks that directly target civilian populations, especially children.
It should be noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has no intention or will to target civilians or attack countries in the region, and all defensive operations have been conducted with the fundamental consideration of targeting only the positions and bases of the aggressor US regime and the occupied territories, and observing the principles of distinction and proportionality enshrined in international humanitarian law. It is emphasized once again, as has been repeatedly stated in the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran authorities, that Iran does not seek to escalate tensions, but it will not retreat from illegal acts of force. As long as the aggression continues, our country will defend its territory, nation, and sovereignty using all legitimate means.
