The second International Nanotechnology Olympiad was held on 17 and 18 November 2024, hosted by Malaysia, with the presence of representatives from five Asian countries including Iran, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The Iranian national team, by presenting the research project "Producing clean, cheap and renewable fuel from hydrogen using sunlight", won the Gold medal and the title of the Best Team in the fields of science, innovation and commercialization.
Mr. Mohammadi Nasrabadi the Iranian Ambassador, attended the closing ceremony as a special guest. He met with Mr. Chang Lih Kang, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia. In this meeting, the parties discussed the capacities of the two countries in the field of nanotechnology and exchanged views on ways to develop bilateral cooperation
